Beyond Busking Project Journey of Dylan Red: Cape Town’s Rising Star

Dylan Red, a talented singer-songwriter from Cape Town, has established himself as a musical powerhouse since 2016. Renowned for his versatility and proficiency in multiple instruments, Dylan dedicates himself full-time to his craft, captivating audiences with his unique sound at both public and private events. His musical journey began with a bold audition as a busker at the V&A Waterfront in December 2016.

Dylan’s career has been on a meteoric rise. He has opened for legendary artists such as Sipho “Hotstix” Mabuse and shared the stage with renowned acts like Biggy, Springbok Nude Girls, Loufi, Loki Rothman, and more at the Head For The Hills event, in collaboration with BMW Motorrad. Additionally, he had the honor of opening the Jazzathon 2019 at the V&A Waterfront, cementing his place in the local music scene.

The accompanying video chronicles Dylan’s inspiring journey, from nerve-racking auditions to his transformative experience in the Beyond Busking Programme. This immersive program unlocked Dylan’s creative potential, allowing him to delve deep into songwriting, vocal training, musical arrangement, and studio production. Esteemed mentors such as Abigail Petersen (Vocal Coach) and Lynne Holmes (Beyond Busking Programme Director) have praised his versatility and powerful voice.

Dylan’s latest hit, “Bring The Rain,” showcases his musical prowess and is available on all digital platforms. Produced at Mallum Studios by Ebrahim Mallum, the track features Dylan on both guitar and lead vocals, delivering a soulful and electrifying performance.
