Beyond Busking Project 2023 featuring Nosie Mbili

Nosie Mbili: A Journey from Passion to Performance

Nosie Mbili, born in Cala, Eastern Cape, and raised in Cape Town, discovered her passion for music and theatre early on. She found her voice through drama plays and school choir participation and began honing her craft. Collaborating with talents like Mfundo Hashe, Thando Doni, and Khayalethu Mofu, Nosie built a solid foundation in the arts.

A significant milestone in her career was working with the legendary Mama Thoko Ntshinga, which greatly inspired her. In music, Nosie has shared stages with icons such as Mthunzi Namba, Bro Stompie Mavi, Lusanda Beja, and Nomandala Mfencane, showcasing her versatility and earning recognition as the best Jazz lady in Cape Town. Her performances at prestigious venues like the Artscape Theatre and the Baxter Theatre further cemented her reputation.

This video chronicles Nosie’s inspiring journey, from the nerve-racking auditions to her transformative experience in the Beyond Busking Programme. This immersive program unlocked Nosie’s creative potential, allowing her to dive deep into songwriting, vocal training, musical arrangement, and studio production.
