Vukile Moya: Rising Afro-Soul Star from Langa
Vukile Moya, a rising Afro-soul sensation from Langa, Cape Town, continues mesmerizing audiences with his soulful voice and the depth of his storytelling. Whether performing in intimate settings or on grand stages, Vukile’s artistry leaves an indelible mark. His journey into music began at the tender age of 5, and in 2013, he recorded his first song, paving the way for an extraordinary career. By 2017, he founded the a cappella group “Action My Vision,” demonstrating his talent for leadership and collaboration.
The accompanying video offers a glimpse into Vukile’s evolution, from his early auditions to his transformative experience with the Beyond Busking Programme. This comprehensive initiative, which includes songwriting, vocal refinement, musical arrangement, and studio production, provided Vukile with the platform to hone his craft. Through this program, he not only polished his technical skills but also learned to embrace vulnerability in his music, gaining a newfound confidence that resonates in his performances.
On July 26, 2024, Vukile released his latest single, “Bantwana Bam”, an Afro-soul masterpiece that is now streaming on all digital platforms. Recorded at Rootspring Studios and produced by the legendary Jonny Blundell, the track showcases Vukile’s poignant lyrics and powerful vocals, making a deep and lasting impact on every listener. The song features an exceptional band, including:
- Shaun Johannes on bass
- Lilavan Gangan on drums
- Lonwabo Mafani on piano/keyboard
- Jonny Blundell on electric guitar
With expert mixing and mastering by Vicente Espi-Sanchis, “Bantwana Bam” promises an unforgettable musical experience, rich with emotion and rhythm.
