The Cape Town Arts Festival has developed EMPLOI (Education Mentorship Programmes for Leadership Ownership and Innovation) to empower community artists with extra skills to increase job creation and income opportunities. The first job creation and training programme was developed for the Langa Creative Community where unemployed artists are receiving training in events and festival management, marketing, social media, fundraising, budgeting and logistics. The programme duration is 3 months (Mar-May 2023) and includes 8 modules covering the A-Z of events, marketing and fundraising management. The trainees will develop and implement their own festival (Langa Community Arts Festival) on the 10th of June at Guga S’Thebe and Langa Community Hall.
Details regarding Langa Community Arts Festival to follow soon.
The programme is supported by Ariva Arts Foundation and the WC Dept of Cultural Affairs and Sport.
