Lifestyle arts include free sessions on yoga, Zumba dance, laughter therapy, Tai Chi, martial arts, and more…

Ian Gordon is a laughter yoga/wellness teacher based in Cape Town since 2017. He conducts sessions with intentional laughter to shift people’s energy. He will be doing a demonstration on the main stage at the Cape Town Festival from 10 am to 10.30 am, and on the rooftop between 11 am and 11.30 am.

The benefits of Laughter Yoga are far-ranging and are derived from sustained intentional laughter. Sustained refers to the length of the session, as well as the regularity over a period of a week or a month. Intentional refers to laughter that is created by body-based laughter exercises as practiced in Laughter Yoga and does not rely on comedy or jokes.

Come and enjoy free yoga on the rooftop of the Castle on the 29th of October from 1 pm to 2 pm with Elaine Seidel.  Bring your own yoga mat. Elaine’s love affair with Yoga started in 2000. Her first class left her feeling like a 5-year-old, so familiar and nourishing, she had come home! This Journey led her on the most Exquisite Adventure, revealing Yoga’s healing Medicine and Magic. Her Practice became her passion.

Elaine seeks to translate and express the Joy, Freedom, and Support that Yoga offers, in connecting and getting to know the body. She strives to show students the Beauty and Importance of this connection, despite our differences in strengths and abilities. Inspired by the precision and alignment of Iyengar; the strength and core connection physically and emotionally of Forrest yoga; the anatomical understanding of the safe and healthy practice of the spine,  through Synergy Yoga – culminating in the Grace and fluidity of Vinyasa. Respecting & valuing one’s body is the Key to good health.
