The Cape Town Arts Festival is proud to present a diverse and exciting Images of Hope visual arts program curated by Madlozi Contemporary Art.

Images of Hope visual arts program with a mixture of stimulating activities and art that brings visual culture in the city to life and makes it fun and accessible for everyone.

Our dynamic program of contemporary art workshops, street art, a digital art exchanges is curated by cultural producers, Madlozi Contemporary Art.

The day will include a uniquely designed live exhibition of contemporary art where audiences online and in person can participate and see the exhibition unfolding in real-time as artists create inspiring works responding to the festival theme of peace and hope in Africa.

The live and interactive event will connect with new ideas and conversations in visual art with exciting dialogues around the digital future of art, artists exploring new directions and forms of expression, and a life-size outdoor mural created at the festival by leading street artists giving expression to this year’s theme. Join us for a day of creativity and sharing as we explore art in all its forms and expressions to celebrate the importance and spirit of peace and hope in Africa.

SUMMARY OF THE PROGRAM

  1. Live & Interactive Art Exhibition in Three Parts – Emerging & Youth Artist Groups at 10 AM – 12: 30 PM.
  2. Art Exchange / Talk – ‘Contemporary Art in The Digital Age – Africa Embracing the Future’ at 1:30 PM – 2:30 PM.
  3. ‘Africa Moves Embracing Peace & Hope in Motion’: Performance / Movement-Based Art at 10 AM – 2:30 PM.
  4. Public Art With A Message – Street Art / Interactive Mural Painting + Artwork Reveal at 10 AM – 4:30 PM.
