Nosiviwe Riley Roulette Mbulana, an artist selected for the Philippi PESP Project in events and marketing management, shares her transformative journey and the invaluable lessons she’s gained from the program. The Philippi PESP Project was devised with a clear objective: to empower the Philippi Arts Centre to host and plan the Philippi Community Arts Festival effectively. As a participant in this initiative, Nosiviwe and her peers delved into the intricacies of events and marketing management, project management, and digital and social media marketing gaining practical skills and insights that would shape their artistic endeavors.

“I’ve gained so much from the Philippi PESP Project,” Nosiviwe shares. “From learning the ins and outs of event planning to understanding the nuances of marketing, this program has equipped me with invaluable tools to navigate the creative landscape.”

Looking ahead, Nosiviwe is eager to apply what she’s learned to her artistic endeavors. “I plan to utilize the knowledge and skills gained from the Philippi PESP Project to elevate my work as an artist,” she affirms. “Whether it’s organizing my exhibitions or marketing my creations, I feel equipped to take on new challenges and opportunities.”

This Cape Town Arts Festival project is a shining example of collaboration and empowerment.
